A minor earthquake of magnitude 3.85 on the Richter scale, struck Bangladesh on Saturday but no damage or casualty was immediately reported. The tremor lasted for 12 seconds.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 101 km from Chittagong Seismic Observatory.
Meanwhile, two ships of the Bangladesh navy, accompanied by a C-130 cargo plane and an airforce helicopter, left for Sri Lanka and the Maldives to take part in post-tsunami rescue operations and relief activities in the affected areas of the two countries.
