The bill of the constitutional amendments including dropping caretaker system has been tabled in parliament as the 15th amendment to the constitution. Suranjeet Sen Gupta, Chairman parliamentary committee on law told VOA that this is the biggest constitutional amendment in the history of Bangladesh. Parliament sent the bill to committee for further scrutiny. Suranjeet said they will send it back to the parliament as early as possible. Meanwhile the opposition BNP’S acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam has bitterly criticized the bill saying that this move on the part of the ruling party is pushing the country into a constitutional crisis situation .
