Ex-army Chief Stripped Off Four - Star General Rank - 2004-10-11

Former army chief Mustafizur Rahman has been stripped off his four-star general's rank. In an announcement the Defense Ministry said that on December 18, 2000 the ruling government promoted Army Chief Lieutenant General Mustafizur Rahman to the rank of a full-fledged general on the day of his retirement. It said the promotion was 'unlawful'.
