Bangladesh Jama'at Islami Leader denies Allegations about Blast - 2004-08-27

Matiur Rahman Nizami, the leader of Bangladesh Jama'at Islami , an Islamic fundamentalist party in the present coalition government in Bangladesh, has denied allegations that his party was instrumental in the bomb blast which was aimed at killing Sheikh Hasina, the former prime minister and the leader of the opposition. Maulana Nizami, who is often criticised for his role in the Liberation war of Bangladesh , however said that he cannot be held responsible for what the Islamic outfits might be doing.
