In an exclusive interview with VOA, Dr. Enamul Huq, former founder and director general of The National Museum of Bangladesh, speaks about his recently published book on the history of four hundred years of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It also talks about the last two hundred years before the birth of Dhaka.

Dr. Enamul Huq is a writer and well-known personality in the cultural world. After retiring, Dr. Huq has written many books on the archaeological heritage of Bangladesh, West Bengal, and South Asia in general. In this interview, he speaks about his experience and discusses the content of his book and what makes it unique.

This year marks four hundred years of Dhaka as the capital city of Bangladesh. Dr. Huq has just published a book with the history of Dhaka which includes about seven hundred pictures depicting the last six hundred years. The book has been written in English for the consumption of national and international readers.
