Advocate AKM Hafizur Rahman, MP Speaks About Politics in Bangladesh

Advocate AKM Hafizur Rahman is a Member of Parliament in Bangladesh. He was elected from Bogra with the ticket of the Opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He has been a parliament member in previous terms too.

Recently during a visit to our studio, in an exclusive interview, Mr. Rahman spoke about parliamentary democracy and the role of an opposition party.

He gave reasons why his party is not going to the parliament, claiming that the government has been playing down the opposition's role by not giving them enough seats in the front row nor letting them speak. When asked whether BNP's absence from parliament is due to their internal conflicts about who would be Deputy Leader of the House, he said let the government give us the seats and then we'll decide.

He said although they are not going to parliament, they are expressing their views through media.
