Wife of Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, Bidisha Ershad, was arrested on Saturday evening after the former president charged her with theft. Earlier Ershad expelled Bidisha from the party. A few hours before her arrest, Bidisha Ershad in an interview with Voice of America said that she did not think it was a big deal that she was expelled. She said she married Ershad to have a family and not to be active in politics. Amir Khasru has more details.
