Second Ferry in Three Days Capsizes in Bangladesh

A ferry carrying 150 people capsized west of the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, Tuesday -- in the second such accident in three days.

Authorities say the boat was traveling from Pabna district to Aricha terminal when it went down in stormy weather.

Rescuers recovered a child's body and are searching for dozens of missing passengers.

Two days earlier, an overcrowded ferry sank in bad weather in southern Bangladesh, killing at least 60 people. More than 40 people are still missing.

The same storms were responsible for at least 21 deaths and more than 13-hundred injuries across Bangladesh. Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds flattened hundreds of homes and knocked down trees and electricity poles. Zahurul Alam has more on the story from Dhaka.
