According to journalists, in unofficial results in the 30 centers out of the 577 centers, incumbent mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury of Chittagong Nagorik Committee received 18,580 votes, with his nearest rival ruling alliance-supported candidate Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin trailing with 12,581 votes. Most observers said voting was peaceful.
