Voting for electing the next mayor of Chittagong began amid tight security on Monday.
The voters are expected to make a choice between incumbent mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and his main challenger Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin. Both sides have traded accusations of impropriety. Except a few scattered incidents the voting was peaceful.
