West Bengal: a story of Success in Fighting TB

In the Indian state of West Bengal, combating against tuberculosis has been a story of success.They are using a controlled drug program called DOT ( Directly Observed Treatment which under which a patient is not required to stay in TB hospitals.

The government of West Bengal has therefore taken steps to reduce the number of beds in TB hospitals in West Bengal.A concerned official says that if under DOT the patient continues to take medicine , the patient can be cured completely.
