Widespread Concern & Condemnation on Kibria Killing Continues

Several countries have expressed their concerns and condemnations on the recent events in Bangladesh, including the death of the former Finance Minister SAMS Kibria in a grenade attack on Thursday.

ndian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh conveyed their deep condolences to Asma Kibria on the tragic death of former finance minister and Awami League leader Shah AMS Kibria MP. Navtej Sarna, official spokesman for the ministry of external affairs of Indian government, yesterday said, "All right-thinking persons must join in condemning such violent acts of terrorism, which constitutes a direct attack on the fabrics of democracy that the people of Bangladesh are striving to create for themselves."

The Deputy foreign minister of Britain called Sheikh Hasina , the Awami League Chief and the leader of the opposition to express his condolence and condemnation on the killing of a reputed former finance minister of Bangladesh. Condemnations and concerns have also been expressed by Japan and the US .
