Topic: A Rohingya, Resident of Yangon Urged International Community to Put Pressure on Myanmar to Ensure Parliamentary Democracy
Translation Summary:
A Rohingya, who is unwilling to mention name and the resident of Yangon said that the residents of Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon as well as of other cities and states have started peaceful demonstration against Myanmar’s military coup since Saturday to call for the release of the country’s detained elected leaders and an end to military rule, he said.
As far as my knowledge goes that more than 95% general public as well as government employees support Suu Kyi’s government. He also, said that China can do whatever it wants in Myanmar during military power that’s why China is supplying water cannon and other materials to Myanmar military to halt protest march against Myanmar’s military coup by the police and others.
Moreover, he said he has been living in Yangon for decades and he has many friends among higher authorities of NLD who called the Rohingyas as Bengalis and deny the rights of Rohingya very much. At the end, he said that the Rohingyas will never get their rights whether it’s under the National League for Democracy(NLD) or other governments, until military rule remains in Myanmar that’s why he wants to request to international community to put Myanmar pressure to ensure parliamentary democracy in Myanmar.
