The Italian-born leader of India's Congress party -- Sonia Gandhi -- has dropped out of contention to become India's prime minister to end debate over her foreign birth. Although under the constitution any citizen including foreign born citizens of India can become Prime Minister. Ms. Gandhi told an uproarious meeting of lawmakers from her Congress party Tuesday evening in New Delhi she must humbly decline the post.
