Following Israel's killing of the Head of the militant group Hamas, Abdel Aziz Rantesi, demonstrations and rallies were organized in Dhaka condemning the killing and demanding Israel's withdrawl from occupied territories.
M Morshed Khan, the foreign minister of Bangladesh , in a separate statement demanded the withdrawl of Israel from the occupied territories of Palestine.
In another development members of Jamat-e-Islami , a fundamentalist party in the ruling alliance in Bangladesh, while speaking in a seminar on Iraq situation, were severely critical of the role of USA in Iraq.
