India's air force says a military plane with at least 14 people on board is
missing.
Military officials say the Russian-made AN-32 turboprop had
taken off from an air base in the eastern Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh
Tuesday and was due to land in the northeastern state of Assam.
They say
they fear the plane has crashed.
An air force spokesman (Ranjit Sahu)
says the military conducted an aerial search Tuesday over a region which
contains mountains and dense forests but did not locate any wreckage.
He
says the search will resume Wednesday.
