After working at the state-run Bangladesh television, Mustafa Kamal Syed retired in 2004 and joined private satellite channel NTV as chief of programs.
He is now on a private tour of the USA. In an interview with VOA he spoke about the program format of Bangladesh’s private television channels, the revenue they earn from tight advertisement-market competing with the state owned BTV.
He also commented on the required regulations designed for a family-oriented media, in a conservative social environment like Bangladesh.
