Two people were killed and at least 25 others injured , including the train driver, were injured as a passenger train rammed a bus at Mondolerhat level crossing under Lalmonirhat sadar upazila early yesterday. Nineteen of the injured have been admitted and hospital sources say that six of them are in critical condition. Police said they could identify two of the dead who succumbed to their injuries on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH). The accident took place at about 6:30am when a Parbotipur-bound passenger train hit a Burimari-bound night coach from Dhaka at the Mondolerhat rail crossing, 5 kilometres off Lalmonirhat Railway Station. The engine and two bogies of the train derailed from the tracks snapping road communication from Lalmonirhat to other parts of the country for about six hours.
