After a gap of two years, the foreign secretaries of India and Bangladesh will hold talks on all bilateral issues in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The Bangladesh foreign secretary, Mr Hemayetuddin, will meet with his Indian counterpart, Mr Shyam Saran, on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Bangladesh delegation will comprise senior officials of the foreign, trade and water ministries.
According to reports from Dhaka, the Bangladesh foreign secretary said that the agenda would be “open-ended”. It is expected that security, border management and water will be among the main topics of discussions. The last foreign secretary-level meeting was held in August 2003.
