Afghan officials say security forces have arrested two senior Taleban commanders in the western part of the country. The Defense Ministry says the two, Haji Sultan and Mullah Mohammad Rahim, were captured Saturday in Farah province. Officials describe Haji Sultan as a bomb maker who led attacks against U.S. and Afghan troops. In addition Afghan authorities captured the suspected ring-leader of the criminal gang accused of killing four journalists just after the fall of the Taleban in 2001. The suspect was identified by another gang member who was sentenced to death for the killing of the Australian, Italian, Spanish, and Afghan journalists. In another development, Afghan Foreign Minister Abdullah said the government is doing everything possible to free an Italian aid worker kidnapped in Kabul three weeks ago.
