M Morshed Khan , foreign minister of Bangladesh , who is now on a private visit to the USA has met US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. They discussed on bi- lateral, regional and international issues. Morshed Khan , in an exclusive interview with VOA on Friday said that this was his first meeting with MS Rice. He praised Condoleezza Rice for her far sightedness as far as international situation is concerned. Mr Khan also said that the possibilities of economic cooperation were also explored during the meeting. He said that they discussed domestic political problems in Bangladesh. He quoted a report saying that Bangladesh is well ahead of many regional and developed countries in women’s empowerment. They discussed on the issue of fundamentalism although he added that there is nothing called fundamentalism in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh’s foreign minister also separately met the National Security Advisor , Stephen Hadley.
