Sheikh Hasina, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and leader of the opposition has just left US to join a coming conference of the Association of the Asian Parliaments for Peace. As a founder Chairperson of this forum, Hasina is attending this conference in Manila. In this exlusive interview with VOA she talks about the possibility of establishing a forum like European Union where the Asian countries can benefit themselves. She says that Asia is a continent where the countries of different economic strength exist almost side by side ranging from the developed countries to the underdeveloped ones. So something should be done together to let people of the continent derive benefit from it. Prior to her visit in the USA, she attended an International Seminar on Democracy, Terrorism and Security in Madrid. In this conference they discussed at length on terrorism and violation of human rights to which people in Bangladesh are also being subjected to.
