A live round table discussion on President Bush's state of union address was held in our studio . Besides three participants from the service a Bengali journalist from New York Syed Mohammadullah also contributed to the discussion.
The discussion focussed on President Bush's domestic as well as his foreign policy. The discussants talked on Mr Bush's policy for reforming the Social Security and leaving the options opened before the congress. Presidential speech not only highlighted the immense success in Iraq's election but more significantly talked about a broader democratization in the Middle East and categorically mentioned Saudi Arabia and Egypt to lead the people towards democracy.The president hoped to see a breakthrough in the peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians , hoping that these two states will remain amidst peace and security , the President asked for 350 million dollars to help palestine in achievinng democracy.
