Iraqi officials say they have arrested three top aides to terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Iraqi officials said the three arrested men include Zarqawi's military adviser, his Baghdad commander and another close aide.
Zarqawi's group, known as al-Qaida in Iraq, has denounced Iraq's national election and vowed to continue attacks. In the latest violence, insurgents killed five U.S. soldiers and at least four Iraqis in attacks in Baghdad. Meanwhile, the U.S. military said it is investigating the crash of a Kiowa Army helicopter in southwest Baghdad. Officials said there is no evidence that the aircraft was shot down, and there is no word on casualties. The helicopter usually carries two crew members. Wednesday, a Marine transport helicopter crashed, killing all 31 military personnel on board.
