Insurgents in Iraq have abducted eight Chinese nationals and threatened them with death.
Al-Jazeerah broadcast a video showing the hostages Thursday in which their abductors threatened to kill the men unless China "clarifies its role in Iraq." Chinese officials say the men are construction workers.
Also Tuesday, a Lebanese man was reported kidnapped. Two other Lebanese nationals are being held in Iraq.
Meanwhile, kidnappers freed the archbishop (Basile Georges Casmoussa) of the Syrian Catholic Church in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. He was abducted Monday and says he was treated well by his captors.
